Re:                  Rescue of Injured Woman

On January 27, 2012 at about 3:20pm, The Curry County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a woman who had fallen and injured her ankle while hiking trails with her husband near Indian Sands State Park, just north of Brookings.  Cal Ore Life Flight and Cape Ferrelo Fire Department had been paged to respond.  Curry County Sheriff Detective Dave Gardiner was in the area and responded as well.  Responders located sixty year old Janet Teague of Brookings, Or., near the bottom of the trail by the ocean.  The Coast Guard were notified and asked to assist.   The Curry County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue responded and with the combined effort of everyone, Teague was carried on a stretcher back to the parking lot.  Teague was then transported by ambulance to Curry General Hospital for an injured leg.
